Schools can now book a Seven Steps PD, followed by 1- 2 days of student modelling sessions.

OR Choose Your Step A one hour teacher PD in the morning, followed by 3 sessions of classroom modelling. Do this 7 times and you'll have your teachers AND students trained in all the Seven Steps!

NOTE: Can also be done TWO steps at a time e.g. two hours of PD after school and modelling sessions the next day.

Step 1: Plan for Success
A unique Story Graph shows the easy (and effective) way to plan stories. Your kids will never ask again 'But what will I write...' after trying the Never Ending Ideas activity - over 100 story ideas in minutes.

Step 2: Sizzling Starts
No more 'I got up that morning and got dressed....' Children laugh and learn never to start stories the old boring ways again. We even do the fabulous Five Starts in Five Minutes game - they love it!

Step 3: Tightening Tension
Fast-paced group brainstorming shows students the power of what they see, hear, touch, taste and feel in a scene – then they write furiously for four minutes, with fantastic results.

Step 4: Dynamic Dialogue
Discover how to get rid of the endless 'Hi, how are you... I'm fine...... how are you?' passages in writing, learn the four levels of conversation and how authors 'cheat' to make dialogue come alive.

Step 5: Show Don't Tell
Watch students act out a snooty author coming to town or a grotty teenage brother crazy about skateboarding. When all the ideas are flowing, be amazed at how easily kids can put their ideas onto paper, in just minutes. They are so proud as the best work of the group is shared with everyone.

Step 7: Exciting Endings
What's the story behind a kid laughing as she catches a bubble or a boy hiding at a footy match? Kids have ten minutes to work it out. Best of all, by the end of the session they promise never to use the ending 'And then I woke up' ever again.
